Conserve and enhance Guilderton’s dune biodiversity

Project Summary

Guilderton’s native dune biodiversity is being threatened by invasive weedy Pyp Grass.

This project will remove 10ha of Pyp Grass (Ehrharta villosa) through herbicide spraying to allow native biodiversity to return and thrive.
A community planting day to revegetate 1.5ha of degraded dunes using native seedlings will provide an opportunity for the community to be engaged in active stewardship of the Guiderton dunes.
The local Yued community will be engaged to Work on Country through an organised dune rehabilitation activity to plant native seedlings and remove weeds, and will erect 3 new interpretive dune ecology signs.
