Open to all land managers, farmers and community groups who are involved in natural resource management in the Northern Agricultural Region (NAR).
Grants of up to $10,000 are now available:
- to address wind erosion
- to implement sustainable farming practices
- for soil management practices
- for soil carbon sequestration or verification activities
in the NAR through the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council’s Sustainable Farming small grants program.
Potential projects could include:
- trialling new species
- new methods of establishing perennial pastures and fodder shrubs
- providing workshops or training events
NACC’s small grants program will enable land managers or community groups to enhance their skills and knowledge of sustainable farming, soil management and soil carbon practices, thereby reducing the risk of wind erosion across the NAR.
Applications close on Friday 1 June 2012.
